Biometric Data Handling

The Smart Attendance System utilizes advanced dlib-based neural networks to generate 128-dimensional biometric vectors. We prioritize your privacy and handle all data with mathematical precision.

• We do NOT store raw facial images after the enrollment process is complete.
• Faces are converted into encrypted numerical vectors (hashes) that cannot be reversed into an image.
• Biometric data is strictly used for identity verification and attendance logging.

Geolocation Privacy

To ensure academic integrity, the system utilizes high-precision GPS geofencing. This data is only processed locally on your device during the attendance window to verify presence within authorized campus coordinates.

• Your location is never tracked in the background or outside of classroom hours.
• We do not share your travel history or frequent locations with third parties.

Data Security & Storage

All student records and biometric hashes are stored in a secure MongoDB environment. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and is protected by JWT-based authentication layers.

• Encryption-at-rest for sensitive enrollment metadata.
• Automated audit logs for all administrative access.
• Secure SSL/TLS transmission for all client-server communications.

Your Rights

As a student or faculty member, you maintain full control over your digital identitiy within our system.

• Request a full report of your attendance history and data profile.
• Withdraw consent for biometric processing and request account deletion.
